Title:

The Blockchain of Things: Challenges and Recent Work at the University of Malta

Abstract:

Blockchain technology is already seeing potential to decentralise services in many sectors including finance, health and governance (to mention a few). Smart contracts enable automated, verifiable and decentralised fulfilment of digital processes.  The Internet of Thing (IoT) is also enabling more efficient real world process by embedding computational devices into existing and new products and spaces. By integrating blockchain systems with the IoT it would be possible to achieve more trusted, automated and verifiable real world processes. However, a number of challenges must be overcome to achieve this reality. In this talk we will discuss a number of challenges and recent work at the University of Malta to overcome these challenges.

Colloquium coordinators are Prof.dr. D. Karastoyanova and Prof. dr. M. Biehl.
