BCN PI Meeting: Let's talk: BCN research on language and the brain: September 27, 2018
Time: 9:00-17:00 hrs
Where: The Normanbuilding, Lutkenieuwstraat 5 , 9712 AW Groningen
At this year’s PI meeting, BCN research on language, cognition and the brain will be in the spotlight, with BCN researchers from four different faculties presenting their work.
What are the current questions in BCN language research, and what methods are available to answer them?
The talks will be designed to answer these questions for a broad audience of BCN members. That is, you will not receive a detailed update of the latest findings, but instead are invited to take an interest in the questions that drive language research in Groningen and the empirical approaches that are pursued to answer them.
We explicitly invite BCN colleagues from all fields of expertise to participate in an exchange of ideas about innovative approaches to research on language and possible links to other areas of research. We also hope to spark some ideas for new, interdisciplinary collaborations. Most of all, however, we want to provide a broad overview of BCN language research and its diversity.
We will round off the meeting with a keynote lecture by Carel ten Cate (University of Leiden) on the linguistic abilities of birds.
