After having completed a first master’s degree specialised in French business law, I knew that I wanted to give an international dimension to my studies as well as having the opportunity to live abroad for a year. I have chosen to join the specialised LLM programme in International Business Law provided by the University of Groningen because it was the only one which offered me the possibility to get acquainted with all business-law related issues and not only part of them. This programme really stood out from the others offered in the Netherlands.

Not only did the programme meet my academic expectations, i.e having a European as well as a Dutch approach of business law in general but the Faculty of Law gave me the tools to success in this very demanding programme. Indeed, the Faculty of Law possesses its own library as well as an impressive data base which rendered my transnational researches more easy.

Since this programme is one-year long, it is obvious that the city of Groningen itself was also essential in my choice to join the University. Indeed, I knew that because the University is widely known, it would attract loads of foreign students so I would be able to live within an international environment and meet people from all around the world. Moreover, the fact that the city is not too big make enable to reach the city center and the University quite easily.

Thanks to my experience in Groningen, I am now able to better understand transnational business relationships and I have obtained my first job within the Investment funds department of a well-known Law firm established in Luxembourg.
