Pre-LLM Governance and Law in Digital Society
Since the programme Governance and Law in Digital Society (GLDS) is a mix of law and social sciences, most students will have to participate in a pre-LLM programme in order to be admitted. The pre-LLM programmes for GLDS are offered as a Winterschool Pre-LLM for law students and two Springschool Pre-LLMs (one for social science students and one for University of Groningen IRIO students).
Winterschool Pre-LLM
The Winterschool Pre-LLM programme for GLDS for law students consists of 15 ECTS in total and contains of three (online) courses:
- Policy Science (4 ECTS)
- Public Governance (4 ECTS)
- Social Research Methods (7 ECTS)
The 15 ECTS Winterschool Pre-LLM will be offered online. The online courses commence on February 1st 2021 and run until May 1st 2021. This allows students time to still enrol in Studielink for the GLDS LLM. During the Winterschool, students can attend online lectures and live feedback/Q&A-sessions; there will be an online tutorial for the course Social Research Methods. Students are expected to work on assignments by themselves, with regular online supervision meetings.
For those eligible for the Pre-LLM, the successful completion of the Pre-LLM leads to admissibility to the master programme Governance and Law in Digital Society beginning in September 2021. The course descriptions of these separate courses are available in the Online Course Catalogue Ocasys.

Springschool Pre-LLMs
The Faculty offers two Springschool Pre-LLMs: one 35 ECTS Pre-LLM for social science students and one 29 ECTS pre-LLM for University of Groningen IRIO students. Both Springschools will run from February 1st 2021 to early July 2021.
The Pre-LLM programme for GLDS for social science students consists of 35 ECTS in total and is set-up as follows:

The courses offered in block 3 will be taken real-time, the courses offered in block 4 are pre-recorded lectures and students are supervised by a tutor.
