When: Year 1, Block 1

Brief course description: The course aims to improve students’ oral skills to a level that would enable them to function professionally in an international legal context. The curriculum aims to bring students up to a CEFR C1/C2 level. The course concentrates on oral skills in a professional legal context, and includes academic skills, such as a presentation, discussion exercises and debating. The focus is on argumentation. Oral skills will be trained through a variety of methods in a context of international law. The course includes a considerable amount of legal terminology. Final presentations should also be satisfactory.

Assessment: At the end of block 1 there will be an indicative vocabulary quiz and a graded Oral Exam. The oral exam must be a pass (CEFR C1/C2).
