Symposium The Future of Persons and Family Law, 7 December 2012

On Friday 7 December the symposium The Future of Persons and Family Law will take place at the Hanzesociëteit in Groningen, to mark the departure of Anneke Heide, LL.M. and Prof. Sylvia Wortmann from the University of Groningen.

NILG-jaarcongres 2012: De governance-dimensie van enkele deelgebieden van het recht, 21 november 2012
Op woensdag 21 november 2012 organiseert het Netherlands Institute for Law & Governance (NILG) zijn vierde jaarcongres. De voorgaande congressen hebben law and governance als innovatieve en geïntegreerde benadering van rechtsgeleerd onderzoek centraal gesteld. Dit jaar laten zes onderzoeksgroepen van het NILG zien hoe zij deze benadering toepassen op hun deelgebied van het recht.

IVO najaarscongres 2012: Ondernemingsrecht in tijden van crisis, 9-10 november 2012

Het najaarscongres georganiseerd door het Instituut voor Ondernemingsrecht, in samenwerking met Juridische Contractonderwijs Groningen, vond plaats op 9 en 10 november 2012 en had als titel: 'Ondernemingsrecht in tijden van crisis'.

International Conference on Public Policy, Good Morals and Social Justice in European Private Law, 26-27 October 2012

On Friday 26th and Saturday 27th October 2012, an international conference on ‘Public Policy, Good Morals and Social Justice in European Private Law’ took place at Het Kasteel in Groningen. The event was organised by the Groningen Centre for Law and Governance (GCL) and the Endowed Chair Law and Governance, Prof Aurelia Colombi Ciacchi.

GCEL and Energy Valley Platform, 15 October 2012

At the invitation of Energy Valley, GCEL was involved in organising a special symposium on 'Energy and Law – Markets and Sustainability' on 15 October 2012 at the Dairy Campus in Goutum, Friesland. The symposium aimed at presenting the members of Energy Valley (governments and industries) with recent developments in energy law and how this could impact energy developments in the North of the Netherlands.

International Conference on Criminal Liability for Serious Traffic Offences, 7 September 2012
On Friday 7 September 2012, the Department of Criminal law and Criminology of the University of Groningen and the Groningen Centre for Law and Governance will host an international conference on criminal liability for serious traffic offences, in Groningen, the Netherlands. Admission to this conference is free of charge.
International conference on Judicial and Quasi-Judicial Independence, 25 May 2012

On Friday, the 25th of May 2012, the Department of Administrative Law and Public Administration of the University of Groningen and the Groningen Centre for Law and Governance will host an International conference on Judicial and Quasi-Judicial Independence , in Groningen, the Netherlands, at the Hanze Sociëteit.

On Monday morning the 14th of May between 10:00 - 12:00 AM, the Faculty of Law has the honour of receiving Professor Daniel H. Cole, one of the world’s most renowned property rights scholars. He is Professor of Law and of Public and Environmental Affairs at the Maurer School of Law, Indiana University, Bloomington, USA.

Symposium Regulering openbare orde door private partijen, 20 april 2012
Privaatrechtelijke sancties als het stadion- en vervoersverbod, de winkel- en horecaontzegging en de huisuitzetting spelen bij de handhaving van de (openbare) orde een steeds belangrijkere rol. De ernst en lengte van de sancties liegen er niet om. Waar liggen de uiterste grenzen van deze vormen van regulering?
