Prof. Dr. Francesco Giglio

Francesco Giglio (Dott. Giur., Rome; LL.M., Freiburg; Dr. iur., Osnabrück; M.St., D.Phil., Oxon, 2003) is a Senior Lecturer in Law at the University of Manchester, UK, and a Visiting Professor in Private Law at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He is the author of The Foundations of Restitution for Wrongs (Hart, 2007) and has published several monographs and articles on the law of obligations, the law of damages, and property law. He is currently conducting research on the concept of ownership in European private law. His research interests concern the theoretical and historical analysis of private law, including Roman law.
