Artificial intelligence (AI) is enjoying a great deal of interest. And for a good reason – with AI, computers can do a lot more: they can become masters in games like chess and Go, and cars can learn to drive themselves better and better. Today, the discussion revolves around artificial intelligence and law. Could AI also replace the judge ? And now, as the risks of AI are also increasing (for example, the loss of privacy and weaponized robots), should AI perhaps not be linked to law?

Bart Verheij, Professor of Artificial Intelligence and Argumentation (University of Groningen) researches the link between AI and law. Reinoud Baker is the cofounder of LexIQ, an organization that has developed machine learning software.
