The topics are evenly spread over the questions. There are 4 homework assignments. The average grade of the 3 best results of these homework sets leads to the grade HW. Not handing in one of the assignments yields the grade 1 for that specific homework set. The midterm exam during the teaching period leads to the grade MT. The final exam yields the grade ET. Entreevoorwaarden The course unit assumes prior knowledge acquired from Mathematics B as taught in preuniversity programmes (VWO) at Dutch secondary schools (or equivalent). Hence, topics like differentiation, integration, epower, natural logarithm, sine and cosine functions are assumed to be known. Approx. 50 1styear students from the degree programme BME (BSc.) are participating in the course unit, which is compulsory for their degree. The course can also be followed by other BSc. students (as elective) in one of the Life Sciences directions (Biology, LST, etc.). The course unit is followed by, and prepares students for, various BSc. courses (Numerical Methods, Signals and Systems, etc.) in which the learning objectives attained are required as prior knowledge.

Opmerkingen The courses within the bachelor programmes Biology and Life Science & Technology are open to students of those degree programmes only. Students from other degree programmes may be unenrolled. Please contact the academic advisors of Biology/LST first.
