Entreevoorwaarden | Preknowledge: Bachelor in natural sciences or related field. 1st-year master students from the EES master programme are participating in the course unit. The course unit is compulsory for the EES master programme. Maximum capacity: 60 students. Priority for students from the Master EES (Energy and Environmental Sciences) for whom this course is obligatory. The course unit prepares students for the research internship/research projects in which the learning objectives attained are required as prior knowledge. |

Opmerkingen | Pass mark: the exam and the assignment should be graded by a 6 or higher. Mandatory presence: Yes, All presentations are mandatory. In case of absence without a good reason, the student will be asked to make an additional assignment. Quality assurance: All lecturers use the same instruction for the assessment of the assignments. Each oral presentation is graded by two lecturers. The portfolio is graded by the coordinator, separate chapters are also graded by the respective lecturers. Prior to assessment: The lecturers use the same format for their lectures, assignments and presentations. The format and evaluations results are discussed with all lecturers. Two examiners are responsible for the grading. After assessment: The course coordinator discusses the results of the exam and the final grades with at least another lecturer. The coordinator compares the exam and the results with the results of previous years. In case the assessment has to take place online, the written (digital) exam will be adjusted to an online written (digital) exam from home. Second examiner for this course is dr. E.C. van der Waal. |
