Omschrijving | This course is meant for: 1) master students Chemistry in the track Chemical Biology, 2) master students of the GBB Top-program Biomolecular Sciences; 3) master students Molecular Biology and Biotechnology; 4) master students in Physics. This course focuses on the principles and basics of molecular networks, their investigation and their engineering. Three molecular networks with increasing complexity will be covered in the course: Part 1: Synthetic chemical networks (Otto; 6 lectures) Part 2: Genetic regulation networks (Milias-Argeitis, 3 lectures) Part 3: Metabolic networks (Heinemann, 3 lectures) Common to the discussed systems are the emerging phenomena: oscillations, multistability, feedback regulation, noise, etc. |
