Leerdoelen At the end of the course, the student is able to:
1) describe the clinical, histopathological and cell biological features of the different diseases
2) apply the fundamental knowledge on new / alternative data or diseases
3) answer a given scientific question and present this (oral and written) in a concise fashion
Omschrijving Each student is expected write a short report on a given topic and to present this for the rest of the group.

Multiple Sclerosis - clinical overview, neuropathology, immunology, both basic and applied to MS.
Animal models.
Parkinson's Disease - clinical overview, Functional anatomy of the basal ganglia, neuropathology, protein (mis)folding,
neuromodulation.
Stroke - clinical overview, Neuropathology.
Dementia & Brain Aging - clinical overview, neuropathology of AD en FTLD.

(Mandatory presence, student presentations.)
Toetsvorm Opdracht (AST), Presentatie (P), Schriftelijk tentamen (WE)
(The following weighing of grades will be applied: 0.6 x written examination + 0.2 oral presentation + 0.2 x mini review. all parts of the course should be performed and the weighted average should be 5.5 or higher.)
