Leerdoelen | At the end of the course, the student is able to: 1. reproduce and apply knowledge about modern electronic circuits obtained from the book and in class; 2. computer simulate and construct real operating circuits composed of diodes, transistors, operational amplifiers, and logic gates; 3. able to solve electronic circuit problems; 4. able to analyze circuits in research type environment involving both computer simulations of circuits with the professional LTSpice software package (computer labs), and construction of real operating circuits (Physics labs). |

Omschrijving | This course treats: - Basic electronic circuits and analysis (Kirchhoff's laws, Thévenin and Norton equivalent circuits, loading); - AC circuits and analysis (complex impedance, capacitors, inductors, Bode diagrams, filters); - Amplification and feedback (opamps, positive and negative feedback); - Diodes and transistors; - Basic digital electronics (logic gates, flip-flops). |

Opmerkingen | Each computer lab must be marked Pass. Lab 0 must be marked Pass. The grade of each of Lab 1 and Lab 2 must be 5.5 or above. The average of Lab 1 and Lab 2 accounts for 30 % of the final grade; Final written exam together with the bonus from the homework assignments (max 1 point) accounts for 70 % of the final grade; Completion of each one of the computer and physics labs is obligatory to be allowed to take the final/re-exam. Physics Labs: Obligatory to be present. Missing of the labs will prohibit the student to complete the lab and to be allowed to take the final exam and re-exam unless permission is given by the course coordinator.
