Omschrijving | The course Bioinorganic Chemistry provides a general introduction to inorganic chemistry, with special focus on the role of metals in a life science context. The first part of the course will cover central concepts in inorganic chemistry (e.g. atomic structure, chemical bonding, Lewis acid/base theory, coordination chemistry, d-block metals). The second part focuses on the role of (d-block) metals in a life science context (e.g. nitrogen fixation and oxygen activation). | ||||||||||||
