Leerdoelen The course will give to the student knowledge of modern electronics, signal analysis, and system control both on a theoretical and practical level.

After following this course the students are able to:
1.Acquire basic knowledge theoretical and practical for modern Electronics
2. Reproduce and apply the knowledge about modern electronics circuits to solve problems of circuits related to real systems
3. Analyze circuits in research type environments involving computer simulations of realistic circuits with the professional LTSpice software package (computer labs).
4. Computer simulate real operating circuits composed of diodes, transistors, operational amplifiers, and logic gates.
Omschrijving This course treats circuit theory (also in complex form), Kirchhoff, Thevenin, Norton, complex impedance, input- output impendance, loading, periodic and no periodoc noise, signal to noise ratio, time dependent signals, frequency characteristics and Bode diagrams, Op-Amp, positive and negative feedback (application in oscillators), amplifiers, MOSFET, diodes, filters, digital elektronics (basic logic connections), practical treatment of sampling, Fourier-analysis and filters, Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem and aliasing, modulation techniques (use lock-in amplifiers), STM, AFM, photodiodes, and solar cells.

(Computer laboratory: pass/non-pass. Written exam + bonus for homework = 100% of final grade (details on homework bonus are on the Nestorpage for the course). Final written exam is allowed to be taken only if the computer labs are completed with success)
