Leerdoelen At the end of the course, the student is able to:
1. Conduct a small research project under supervision
2. Formulate a research question
3. Provide a justification for the research in the context of the state of the art
4. Propose a research method to address the scientific problem, under supervision
5. Report on the research
6. Present the results of the research to her/his peers
Omschrijving This is a research practical, focused on introducing the students to research in Organic and Molecular Inorganic Chemistry. The student will choose one project from a list of proposals supplied by the research groups of the Stratingh Institute (Organic Chemistry and Molecular Inorganic Chemistry) and will work on this for three weeks, in close collaboration with the research group. The projects can involve organic/inorganic/biomolecular synthesis, catalysis and/or measurements (and combinations of these). At the end a publication-style report will be written and a short presentation will be given for fellow students.

Entreevoorwaarden The course unit assumes prior experimental skills and knowledge acquired from Practical Synthesis 1 and 2 (BSc Chemistry) or equivalent. It also assumes knowledge from the courses Organic Chemistry 1 and 2.
Opmerkingen The course unit is also followed by students from the study Molecular Life Sciences as part of the course "biomolecular research".
