Leerdoelen At the end of the course, the student is able to:

Identify product design requirements and translate these into workable product development options

Describe the relationship between ultimate product function and the chemical and physical nature of the product constituents
3.
Apply the knowledge of physical and chemical properties of materials to new product development
4.
Select and summarize literature in relation to chemical products
5.
Analyze and evaluate manufacturing options and market potential
Omschrijving Product technology comprises the integration of process and processing technology with material sciences and its application to the structured design and development of chemical products. The course consists of four elements, i.e.:
1. Design methodology
2. Material structure-property relations
3. Process and processing technology, incl. product feasibility analysis
4. Broader perspective of product technology which includes knowledge of ethical theories, intellectual property, and economics of scale
