Omschrijving | The bachelor's research project is an individual research project that is carried out under the supervision of an examiner from Astronomy. The research is completed by a Bachelor’s report and a presentation to an academic and professional audience. The following steps are part of the bachelor thesis protocol: 1. The student chooses a project and first examiner/supervisor. On the Kapteyn intranet an overview is given of the available research projects (authorization required). A general overview of the research areas is given on this page. 2. The student and first examiner fill in the Registration and Planning Form. When filled in, the signed form should be sent to the Bachelor's coordinator who will register the project. 3. At the end of the project, a scientific report will be written and the results will be presented at the staff and students of the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute, in particular to the research group of the first examiner, in the presence of the second examiner and the Bachelor's coordinator. 4. The project will be assessed and a final grade will be assigned according to the criteria described in the Bachelor Research Assessment Form. 5. The following documents should be provided to finalize the research project: a) a copy of the bachelor thesis must be uploaded to the repository of the university library by the student; b) a copy of the assessment form, signed by the first and second examiner, must be handed in at the Education Support Desk by one of the examiners. |
