Leerdoelen | At the end of the course, the student is able to: 1) identify and discus ethical issues raised by the development of artificial intelligence. 2) gain familiarity with different moral philosophy theories, and formulate precise arguments to defend (or object to) a specific philosophical position. 3) compare practical solutions to improve the morality either of AI systems themselves or of their applications. |

Omschrijving | The development of artificial intelligence technologies raises or amplifies many ethical issues. The course focuses on a different theme each week, among which: what is ethics (in AI)?; responsible AI; biases and algorithmic fairness; privacy issues; machine ethics; and misinformation. For each ethical issue, the course answers the following questions: What is the issue? Is it specifically an AI issue? What can be done about it? | ||||||||
