Omschrijving | This course provides hands-on experience with computational cognitive modelling using the cognitive architecture ACT-R (http://act-r.psy.cmu.edu/). Previous basic knowledge about ACT-R will be necessary (BSc course Architectures of Intelligence/ACT-R tutorial). In this course we will be developing computational cognitive models to improve our understanding of cognitive processes. We will cover the entire process: formulating a hypothesis, implementing it in a cognitive model, evaluating the models predictions, and finally communicating your findings through a presentation and a scientific report. | ||||||||||||

Entreevoorwaarden | Mandatory: Cognitive Psychology (WBAI021-05), Statistics (WBAI049-05), Architectures of Intelligence (WBAI009-05). If the mandatory requirements are not met, only the Board of Examiners of the AI BSc may grant an exemption. Exchange students are assumed to have gone through this through their Learning Agreement; pre-master's students through the Board of Admissions - other external students are judged case-by-case. |

Opmerkingen | In case there are more students than places, students of the BSc Artificial Intelligence are given priority. This course was registered last year with course code WBAI18002 Artificial Intelligence (BSc) is a Fixed Quota (Numerus Fixus) programme. As a consequence, their courses (course code WBAI) are closed for students that are not registered under the AI BSc programme, unless the course is part of the mandatory curriculum of their programme. If you wish to take this course in your minor – or as part of a so-called ‘unofficial’ pre-master’s – please use the official procedure through the Board of Examiners form. |
