Omschrijving The module consists of lectures and tutorials/practicals. The following topics will be dealt with: linear time variant systems, time domain and time frequency domain analysis, the Z transform, the design of recursive and non-recursive filters, the discrete Fourier transform, the FFT, spectra, windows and the processing and analysis of signals in noise (‘random' signals). During the tutorials, the theory will be applied by the students in examples, the use of MATLAB will be introduced and experience will be gained for the exam.

Advised: Programming knowledge comparable to Imperative Programming (WBAI003-05).

If the mandatory requirements are not met, only the Board of Examiners of the AI BSc may grant an exemption. Exchange students are assumed to have gone through this through their Learning Agreement; pre-master's students through the Board of Admissions - other external students are judged case-by-case.
