Omschrijving | This module provides an overview of the subjects dealt with in the Artificial Intelligence program. Human and artificial intelligence will be approached from different angles, concentrating on the following topics: what is intelligence, the anatomy and working of the brain, differences and similarities between brains and computers, memory and learning, language and reasoning, neural networks, cognitive modelling, and the philosophical problem of body and mind. The focus in all these topics will be on the question of formalization: how can we gain a better understanding of a phenomenon by creating a formal description of it, whether in a mathematical, computational or logical formalism. | ||||||||
