Leerdoelen Upon completing this course you will be able to:
  • Recognise the presence of science in general and physics in particular in everyday life.
  • Examine and thoroughly understand how objects of everyday life work, and use physical intuition correctly.
  • Interpret simple physics laws and use them logically to solve problems, and recognise that the universe is predictable.
  • Design and perform home experiment to test simple physical principles, laws and intuition.
  • Communicate the physical principles, laws and intuition, as well as the results of home experiments, correctly and effectively to a peer audience, both with appropriate terminology and in layman's terms.
  • Describe the historical development of physics and technology and read popular science publications.
Omschrijving The course “How Thing Work: Physics in Everyday Life” is a good introduction to Smart Technologies. Throughout, it focuses on real life applications of fundamental physical principles. At the end of the course students are able to recognise the physics principles involved the complex technology of the Modern World, as well as apply the laws of physics in an interdisciplinary setting.
