Omschrijving This is a hands-on practical that takes place in one group with a maximum of 30 participants. Students meet two half days per week (2 x 3 contacthours). Building on the theory explained in the parallel course CFP&V-2 Crime & psychological assessment and interventions, students will practice and improve their skills using case material with corresponding assignments. This involves roleplays of different phases of the therapeutic process, starting with “introduction and assessment”, more specific risk assessment, then moving on to “formulating and executing a treatment plan”, ‘’performing evidence-based treatments’’ and ending with “treatment evaluation”. The focus is, among others, on basic and specific CBT-techniques, techniques used in trauma-treatment and anxiety- and stress-related disorders, behavioural activation (depression).Furthermore, students will acquire basic skills specifically required in forensic settings with victims and offenders of violence. We focus on motivational interviewing, risk assessment, construction of an offense-analysis, coping with complicated clients, mediation, and the detection of response bias, deception, and malingering.
