Leerdoelen At the end of the course, the student is able to:
1) use the methodical design process to design a biomedical product relevant and usable for all stakeholders (e.g. patients, medical staff)
2) create a test plan to realise a CE-certified product, including the performance of a FMEA (Failure Mode Effect Analysis)
3) apply and control all phases of project management.
4) communicate properly with all stakeholders.
5) analyse his/her team and subsequently use this analysis to optimize the team performance.
6) present their work in a written report and oral presentation.
Omschrijving During this course, strategies the methodical design process is presented and practiced.

In addition to the methodical design process, other topics will be discussed: project management, teamwork, communication methods for a good co-operation between medical and technical experts, application of selection processes, specific design aspects of implants, test of prototypes, including FMEA-analysis.

During the course an assignment will be worked out by an interdisciplinary group of students.
