Leerdoelen Students gain knowledge of state of the art research performed in the field of Medical Biology, specifically in themes related to inflammation and cancer and of the methodology involved. This knowledge will enable students to put this research in a broad perspective and to apply the information obtained to create ideas for new research plans. At the end of the course students will be able to compose a report in the form of a research proposal and to present and defend their ideas orally during a symposium.
Omschrijving This course will address relevant research topics related to inflammation and cancer, including basal aspects of disease development, immunological responses, tissue damage and repair and therapeutic intervention strategies. Topics will be presented in state of the art lectures and students will apply the newly gathered information in specific assignments, that are supervised by researchers from different laboratories. The outcome of these assignments will be delivered both as a written report and an oral presentation.
