Students get acquainted with the full research process from start to end; they learn how theories can be applied in research projects; they know what a good structure of a BA thesis is and know how to apply this. |

Students acquire the basic skills for writing a BA-thesis in the fields of the History of Art, Architecture, or Landscapes. The course focuses on methodologies and a basic understanding of the theoretical foundations of their discipline. Students read and discuss a variety of scholarly publications in order to get acquainted with the diversity of approaches in the History of Art, Architecture, and Landscapes. They carry out a small-scale research project embedded in literature and theory in small groups. Topics include object-oriented research, theoretically motivated scholarship, and close reading. |
