Excursion to Berlin, where we visit the major art museums, current exhibitions and explore the vibrant art scene. Students train the material, visual, iconographical and museological analysis of artworks from the period 1750-now and prepare one art work in particular to give an oral presentation in situ. This is a joint excursion together with the early modern group and places particular emphasis on continuities and ruptures concerning materials and motifs, the role of the artist and the public, as well as in institutional developments. Where possible, meetings with curators and practitioners take place to provide students with an inside view of the art world. |
