Leerdoelen After completing this course, students will have:
1. Knowledge and understanding of the theory and practice of digital data storage, data treatment and analysis
2. Knowledge and application of the E-R Model; Design and implement relational databases
3. Knowledge and use of SQL for queries and data manipulation
4. Understanding and application of Functional Dependencies and Normalization
6. Become familiar with non-relational database management systems (NoSQL)
Omschrijving This course covers database design and their use. Students will acquire skills for designing, building, use, and applying a database to any set of data. The course includes coverage of logical database design (relational model) and SQL, both for data manipulation and queries. The course will also feature database design theory based on functional dependencies and normalization. Non relational databases will be also introduced (NoSQL).
This course will give the student the ability to work with data and advanced contemporary tools for manipulating and querying databases.
The course will follow a practical perspective.
