Leerdoelen The student is able to develop independently a theme into an educational presentation and written essay. The student is able to grade and comment on peer contributions and place these in historical and ecological context.
Omschrijving This course covers a wide range of topics relating to nature and culture in the polar areas. You will prepare and give three lectures and write papers on topics assigned to you by your instructor. Throughout the course, you will be expected to assess the lectures and written work of your peers; they, in turn, will review your work.
The final exam will test knowledge of the written work of all your peers in the course.

This course is open to all students from all faculties and universities as part of their elective program after permission of the examination board of their study. 80% presence and active participation is required.
