Leerdoelen | Upon successful completion of the course unit, students are able to: - discuss both in oral and written form, supported by detailed reasoning, more abstract topics of interest related to the academic context of the Italian language speaking world and the chosen field of expertise, showing understanding of intercultural and sociolinguistic differences and nuances (e.g. synthesising and systematically developing an argument or coming up with solutions for certain situations, ). (Learning outcomes of the degree program: 2.1, 2.5) - independently identify and process explicit and implicit cultural specificities used in context of the Italian language speaking world that appear in authentic oral and written sources of their field of expertise (e.g. movies, media, social media, fiction, and more general academic texts and lectures). (Learning outcomes of the degree program: 2.3) - discuss a set of topics related to the society and culture of the Italian language community and express elaborated opinions about Italian movies and their relation to the Italian culture. (Learning outcomes of the degree program: 4.2) - have constructive discussions with both instructors and fellow students, while respecting diversity. Omschrijving | This is a communicative language proficiency course in Italian in which all skills – reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar and vocabulary – are integrated. Following the levels and can-do-statements of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), the seminars/online sessions are designed according to the action-based approach, and the student’s proficiency is aimed at B2 level. During the seminars/online sessions, different topics related to Italian culture will be discussed through written texts, movies, video and audio fragments. Students will submit written assignments, including reviews of Italian movies. They will also prepare a group presentation. Students will work individually, in pairs or small groups. The student’s active attitude towards preparation for and participation during the seminars is crucial in order to meet the learning outcomes of the module. | ||||||||||||||||

Entreevoorwaarden | Doelgroep IRIO en ETC: Toegang tot het tweede jaar, d.w.z. minimaal 45 ECTS behaald uit de propedeuse van de Bachelor ETC of IRIO. NB: Voor het collegejaar 2020-2021 komt deze entreevoorwaarde te vervallen. Taalvaardigheid Italiaans deel 3a moet zijn behaald. |
