Omschrijving | Following ‘Making Meaning: Introduction to English Literatures I’ and its examination of literary techniques and devices, this course will continue to introduce students to the study of literary interpretation, adding to the students' literary-critical practice a consideration of the place of literature and literary criticism in the world. This will include a discussion of the political and cultural power attributed to forms of literature. Students will discuss and analyse texts, fictional and non-fictional alike, in oral and written assignments. This course aims to cultivate ever more nuanced and more questioning approaches to literature and its place in culture. | ||||||||||||||||||||
