Leerdoelen Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to
1) Understand the key concepts, and discuss theories related to strategic CSR and CSR communication (1.1, 1.2)
2) Apply different analytical frameworks to analyse CSR-related communication activities (2.1, 2.2)
3) Create new communication artefacts (3.1, 3.2)
4) Demonstrate their improved team-working and communication skills (4.1, 4.2)
Omschrijving In this class we combine the business-focussed CSR theory with a linguistic/discourse-focussed approach to CSR communication. You will learn about key concepts and theories of CSR, combined with discourse theories and methods so that you are able to
1) appreciate the socially constructed nature of CSR issues, and the role language plays in this contruction
2) critically analyse CSR communication efforts of real organisations
3) put your acquired knowledge in practice when designing your own communication.

You will be expected to complete an activity for each session. The teaching is workshop-based. This means that you will read and watch video lectures in preparation for the workshop, where will put your newly acquired theoretical knowledge to practice through discussions, analyses and communication activities. Attendance is compulsory.
