The traineeship constitutes one-half of the second year of the research master cultural leadership. During the placement students demonstrate the ability to study an issue in the field of cultural leadership in an academically responsible way, and to present the results adequately to colleagues and, if relevant, non-specialist interested parties. When doing this, students demonstrate that the learning outcomes of the degree programme have been sufficiently realized. |

Traineeships will take place in a cultural organization, a non-institutional cultural context or a policy environment regarding the cultural sector in Europe. The trainee will be supervised by a staff member of the REMA Cultural Leadership, the academic mentor, and by the professional mentor of the organisation providing the traineeship. The traineeship is closely connected to the thesis, which follows the traineeship and constitutes block 4 in the second semester of the second year (but prepared already in block 1 and during the traineeship) of the REMA cultural leadership. Students receive methodological training in the first block of the first semester of their second year in support of the writing of their traineeship and thesis proposal. Research taken up in the traineeship should substantively prepare the student for the elaborations in the thesis. |
