Omschrijving Short description:
The Covid-19 crisis has important consequences for our mobility system. Some of these consequences are beneficial for the environment. For example, in the past months air travel has significantly reduced. Also, many people work from home which reduces commuting by car. However, Covid-19 has also strongly reduced the use of public transport, a sustainable mode of transport. An important question is to what extent people are likely to use sustainable modes of transport after the Covid-19 crises. Will people still refrain from flying after the crisis is over? Will employees continue to telework? And is it possible to get travelers back into public transport? During the summer school you will learn more about these issues from organization in the mobility sector. They will present to you with which problems they are currently dealing. Based on their input you will define a specific behaviour or mindset that needs to be changed in order to promote future sustainable mobility. Based on the course Social aspects of sustainability you will come up with theory-based explanations for the issue. Based on your explanations you will develop strategies to solve the problem. On the final day of the summer school, the groups will present their proposal to the organizations and fellow students.

In the Atelier you and your interdisciplinary team will continue working on this theme. You will develop a monitoring and evaluation plan for the intervention you developed during the summer school. Afterwards, you will present your findings and acquired knowledge during the Petrus Camper Festival.
