Thinking Fast and Slow |
Leerdoelen |
This module will increase your understanding of how psychology affects economic decision-making. |
Omschrijving |
This module centres on the famous book written by Nobel Laureate and psychologist Daniel Kahneman. As such, it provides a good introduction to the field of Behavioral Economics. The book deals with how psychology affects human behaviour, especially in judgment and choice. Kahneman discusses the two systems that drive the way we think. System 1 is fast, intuitive, and emotional; System 2 is slower, more deliberative, and more logical. He also looks at the impact of overconfidence, the difficulties of predicting what will make us happy in the future and the profound effect of cognitive biases on everything from playing the stock market to planning our next vacation. Our behaviour can be understood only by knowing how the two systems shape our judgments and decisions. |
