| Omschrijving | The hero's journey What do Star Wars, the classic Greek stories and your life have in common? They are all examples of hero stories. If you look at stories from different cultures and different times, you see striking similarities. Elsa, Neo and Dorothy all follow the path of the hero's journey. Twelve phases Every person can recognize the stages of this journey. You go through them too: before you were born there was an extensive prologue, you are put to the test in your life, and through those trials you can develop qualities that are of value to the people around you. During the lectures, movie clips are shown to explain the hero's journey. Don't expect a movie night, though. The meetings are highly interactive and personal. So what's in it for me? Knowing the hero's journey can be helpful in overcoming trials and coping with success. It can help you realize that each stage is temporary, that struggling makes the journey more difficult, and that a reward awaits when you pass the ordeal, and then another journey begins. And finally, the Hero's Journey can help you enjoy movies, books and the stories we humans love to tell each other even more. |
