Leerdoelen | At the end of this leadership lab, students: • are aware of the impact of COVID-19 on youngsters in times of COVID-19; • are aware of the social field in which youth workers operate; • are able to work together in an multilevel and multidisciplinary team with students with other educational backgrounds; • are able to apply their knowledge and expertise in develop an intervention with an societal focus; • have successfully finished the assignment, resulting in a product that meets the needs of the client, taking into account the needs of other stakeholders like the targeting group; • are able to reflect on the intervention, and their own contribution to the intervention and the teamwork. |

Omschrijving | The COVID-pandemic brings along many challenges for youth and youth workers. Because of all the COVID guidelines, a part of the youngsters are out of sight for the youth workers. In order to stay in contact with these youngster, the youth workers of ‘’School als Wijk’’ (the client of this challenge) would like to have your help. How can we reach these youngsters? How can we give them a positive future perspective, given all the RIVM-guidelines and restrictions? What can they do, taking into account these guidelines? Due to the corona measures, the course will be mostly online. The sessions will be a combination of online practicals (plenary kick off meeting and group presentations at the end of the course), group discussions (in online break out groups), online intervision meetings and (if possible) field work (including consultation of the client and, if possible, the targeting group) Together with your group of students, you are going to design (and develop) an intervention, based on the steps for design-oriented research. Together with your team of students, you will have to set goals (design requirements), based on a needs-assessment of each stakeholder; design alternative solutions, based on the needs-analysis; and come up with a plan/ prototype on how to reach these youngsters. There is an amount of 1000 euros available to cover the development cost. As a group you are free to think about all kinds of ways to tackle this problem.
