Omschrijving The lectures will provide a thematic introduction to physical geographic subjects. A number of themes will be dealt with, such as climate (change), geology, soil science, hydrology, coastal zone processes, ecology and environmental issues. The course focusses on natural processes and their resulting landforms all across the globe. Topics will be linked to relevant issues for human geographers and spatial planners and will include current environmental problems. There will also be a focus on the relationship between the physical condition of the earth and human use of the earth. As a reference, the history of the origins of the Dutch and other international landscapes will be explained and discussed.
