Leerdoelen | The paper should cover an individual research assignment, covering the whole empirical research cycle, in the knowledge domain of International Business and Management. The assignment must be conducted and reported according to scientific standards. Educational Goals: 1. Find a suitable topic in the IB&M knowledge domain. 2. Formulate and clearly state a central research question and specific research questions and hypotheses, based on initial preliminary literature orientation and subsequent more thorough in-depth literature review. 3. Search for and review appropriate literature to answer research questions. 4. Select and apply appropriate research methods to address research questions, i.e., more specifically to design (and eventually) execute a research plan to test the hypotheses. 5. If necessary and possible, depending on the topic, collect quantitative and/or qualitative data and analyze the data with appropriate statistical techniques and interpret the outcomes. 6. Formulate conclusions, which provide adequate answers to the research questions. Identify limitations of research. 7. Present orally and in writing the findings in a clear, coherent and scientific manner. |

Omschrijving | The paper is an independent piece of work carried out by individual students. Students can choose a topic from one or more themes within the knowledge domain of International Business and Management (to be announced on Nestor at the start of the semester). To write the paper the student is required to conduct research within one of the research themes. Activities involve: collecting relevant literature; specifying a clearly and precisely defined research question; specifying the research methodology to be applied; collecting and analyzing relevant data; and drawing conclusions. For each research theme a series of tutorials is organised to support the writing process. Students are obliged to participate in and contribute to these tutorials. Research proposals, progress, intermediate and final results will be evaluated and discussed in tutorial and individual meetings by the lecturer. Instructions and review take place in tutorial groups and individual meetings. Supervisors act as coach and assessor. | ||||||||
