Leerdoelen At the end of this course students will be able to
1. understand and implement the basics of micro-economic modeling and problem-solving,
2. understand the basics of an economic approach to analyze real-world issues,
3. apply micro-economic reasoning to the analysis of business cases,
4. understand the differences between micro-economics and macro-economics.
Omschrijving This course gives an introduction to microeconomics.
The main topics are:
• How the behavior of consumers and producers in a market determines prices and quantities, and affects welfare. The course further discusses the effects of changes in consumer and producer behavior as well as the impact of government policies on the functioning of markets.
• How market structure affects the strategy of firms, including the effects of differentnumbers of competitors ina market.
