Leerdoelen Upon completion of the course the student is able to:
1. Define and apply the following basic statistical concepts and techniques:
a. Combinatorial methods.
b. Probability: conditional.
c. Distributions : discrete, continuous, multivariate, marginal, conditional.
d. Expectation: conditional.
e. Moment-generating functions.
2. Define and apply the following variety of distributions:
a. Uniform.
b. Bernoulli.
c. Binomial.
d. Negative Binomial, Geometric.
e. Hypergeometric.
f. Poisson.
g. Multinomial.
h. Multivariate Hypergeometric.
Omschrijving The student should study the material and do the exercises published on Nestor. The material is covered in the chapters 1 through 5 of the textbook. During the lecture hours the theory is summarized and discussed and exercises are discussed. There is a weekly practical training.
