Leerdoelen Educational goals

Upon completion of the course the student is able to:
1. Develop and motivate one or more questions or hypotheses for research on the basis of a given research topic
2. Find and critically evaluate and analyse the relevant literature
3. Reformulate the research problem within a mathematical or econometric model
4. Apply and develop the appropriate mathematical methods to the reformulated problem
5. Analyze the outcomes of these methods within the model
6. Critically discuss the applicability and validity of the results in relation to the original problem
7. Assess the applicability of the outcomes to related problems
8. Effectively communicate the results of the thesis in written and oral form
Omschrijving The student writes a scientific report on an individual supervised research project, to show his or her ability to operate as an academic.

Opmerkingen This course is offered in both semester I and semester II.
The quality of the oral presentation can have a marginal effect on the final grade. The process of realization of the thesis plays an important role in the determination of the grade.
