Leerdoelen Upon completion of the course the student is able to:
1. Review relevant academic literature on entrepreneurship and assess research gaps;
2. Apply these insights on entrepreneurship in real business contexts;
3. Appraise new venture creation topics such as entrepreneurial opportunity discovery / creation, evaluation and exploitation, and relevant advanced theories of entrepreneurship.
Omschrijving This course is one of the obligatory courses of the SB&E track within the MSc BA and introduces the students to the specific challenges and issues that entrepreneurs face when starting a new business. The course provides insights into the basic skills required to start a new venture from a theoretical, scientific point of view. The following topics are dealt with: the nature of entrepreneurial opportunities and how they come in existence, selecting promising ideas and formulating a business model, understanding and developing networks of stakeholders, entrepreneurial finance, growth and, finally, corporate entrepreneurship.
