Leerdoelen Upon completion of the course the student is able to:
1. Define and calculate a number of game-theoretic equilibria of static and dynamic games used in contemporary microeconomic theory, in particular in the field of Industrial Organization.
2. Calculate and analyse equilibria of advanced models of cartel behavior based on repeated games, and translate the outcomes of such models in ordinary language.
3. Calculate and analyse equilibria of advanced models of predatory pricing, and translate the outcomes of such models in ordinary language.
Omschrijving The course first discusses a number of equilibrium concepts from noncooperative game theory. It focuses on concepts used in contemporary microeconomic theory, in particular in the field of Industrial Organization. Next, the course discusses in detail advanced models of cartel behavior based on repeated games. Finally, it discusses advanced game-theoretic models of predatory pricing.
