Leerdoelen Upon completion of the course the student is able to:
1. Recognize and describe business processes within organizations.
2. Analyze and evaluate performance of business process architectures within organizations.
3. Pinpoint problems in business processes within organizations.
4. Model and simulate business processes via software applications.
5. Apply dominant concepts and theories from BPM in redesigning problematic business processes.
6. Draft, present and defend redesigned business process solutions.
Omschrijving Business processes represent the “vehicle” through which an organization delivers its products and/or services in accordance with customers’ expectations. Business process management involves the (re)configuration of activities within an organization towards achieving the corporate strategy. Business process architecture and its performance are thus subjected to constant evaluation and scrutiny. The (re)design of business process architecture, through the enhancement of supporting ICT and human infrastructures, therefore reflects a core competency for an organization to maintain sustainable competitive advantages in the marketplace.
