Leerdoelen Upon completion of the course the student is able to:
1. describe relevant organizational change concepts, models and theory;
2. analyze the ways change comes about;
3. understand the dynamics that organizational change processes entail;
4. develop ways how change agents may try to effectively lead organizational change.
Omschrijving Organizational life is characterized by change, both emergent and planned. A constantly changing internal and external context requires flexibility, adaptation and innovation. This can take the shape of organizational development and incremental changes, but also of radical change and redesign. In the Organizational Change course, attention will be paid to the nature of change, how change influences and is affected by organizational aspect systems, forms of change, leadership of change, and models for planned change. You will learn concepts and models to describe and theories to analyze change in terms of context, content and process. Next to theory, research findings and practical examples will help develop your understanding. In addition to diagnosing change, attention will be paid to designing or developing change strategies and to the corresponding roles of change agents.
