Omschrijving | Corruption, responsible sourcing, sweatshops, gender discrimination, cultural relativism - these are only a few of the numerous ethical challenges we face in business and management. But research in moral psychology shows that we often fail to see what is morally important about a situation. And if we do see it, we often do not know how to deal with it. And even if we know how to deal with it, we often do not act accordingly. This course takes a practical approach to business ethics. Its main objectives are to foster sensitivity to moral aspects of decision making in business and management; to teach analytic skills that help you take a position in moral debates and to give a reasonable justification for your position; and to develop ways to successfully cope with dilemmas and issues that arise. We examine the main theories in business ethics, corporate social responsibility, and moral psychology, and we consider specific issues concerning ethics management. The course is set up in highly interactive ways, and we devote a large part of the time to a number of important cases from business ethics by means of collaborative assignments. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
