Leerdoelen After following this course, students are able to:
1. interpret and apply evaluation methods and data analysis in population research
2. value the use of open source data and/or register data to answer research questions
3. design an identification strategy for policy evaluations with observational data or register data
4. describe the steps of conducting a policy analysis
5. inform policy makers on health systems research findings
6. translate a Health Systems and Prevention problem into a substantiated research plan
Omschrijving In this course, students learn about conducting prevention and public health research at population
and health system level using practical approaches. They learn about using open data sources and
register data in population research and applying various quantitative methods in policy evaluations.
Next to this attention is paid to translating research results into practical information for policy makers.
In the final assignment, a written policy brief, all aspects learned in this course come together.
