Notes:
1. Always check the course description and entry requirements of the electives you would like to follow.
NB. For electives from the Faculty of Economics and Business you need some background in Economics/Finances.
2. Always check the schedules of the electives you would like to choose next to each other!
NB. In 2019-2020 there was a small overlap between the schedules of Energy and Finance resp. Sustainable Energy Supply, sinces these courses are part of different programmes in the Faculty of Economics and Business.
3. Some courses, for example, from Biology, Chemistry or TEM (teaching modules) are full-time courses (in Dutch: blokvakken) instead of part-time courses (in Dutch: lintvakken) (EES-courses are 'lintvakken').

Furthermore:
Conservation Biology is only allowed if the student did not yet participate in the corresponding Bachelor course in their previous Bachelor programme.

Photovoltaics Science and Energy is only allowed if the student did not yet participate in the corresponding Bachelor course Solar Cells in their previous Bachelor programme.

Principles of Measurement Systems is only allowed if the student did not yet participate in the corresponding Bachelor course in their previous Bachelor programme.

If a student would like to choose an elective which is not on this list of optional modules the student has to ask approval from the board of examiners for that elective by submitting a (signed by tutor and student) programme proposal form including a motivation for that specific elective to the boe.ees@rug.nl.

For information about deadlines and regulations to register for courses and exams of other faculties (course codes starting with EB, GEM or PS) consult the student portal of the concerning faculty. You can not find these courses in ProgressWWW in the list of courses for EES, you have to search for the right course by the specific course code.

Special cases:
-To register for Environmental Psychology: via an application form that can be obtained at the Student Service Desk of the Faculty BSS/GMW: owbalie.gmw@rug.nl; subsequently you may ask the academic advisor of EES to fill out the form (academicadvisor.ees@rug.nl)
-To register for courses with coursecode GEM send an email to educationoffice.fss@rug.nl

Important change: per 2020/2021 the course Sustainability for Engineers is not allowed anymore as elective course for students from the Master EES.

SPECIAL MESSAGE about Geo-Energy and subsurface processes: THIS COURSE IS NOT SCHEDULED IN 2020/2021 due to retirement of the course coordinator/teacher. But if you participated in the course in 2019-2020 or before and did not yet pass the course, a re-exam will be scheduled in 1B of 2020-2021. Details will be published in due time.
